The Justice society of America may be making their feature film debut in the upcoming Black Adam. The rock confirmed that the group may be part of his origin story for the Shazam villain.
Justice society Of America In Black Adam?
Dwayne Johnson, aka The Rock, is currently promoting his most current movie, Jumanji: The next level with co-star Kevin Hart. It’s widely known that Hart and Johnson share a deep friendship, often mocking each other. In an interview, Johnson confirmed that the Justice society of America will be in his new Black Adam movie.

Johnson was joking around with Hart, as he inquired what part he was playing in Black Adam. Johnson took a moment to confirm that JSA will be in the film. going on to mention that Hart could maybe play one of the team’s pets.
With the recent news of Black Adam (finally) in production, despite Johnson joking, the news may be pretty reliable. The fact that Johnson even brings it up as an aside to confirm the news, indicates that the JSA will absolutely be in Black Adam.
Who Are The Justice society Of America?
While Justice league may be the most popular superhero team in pop culture, the Justice society of America predates them by lots of years. The team appeared in the DC Comics universe in 1940, actually making them the first-ever superhero team in comics. They were essentially the Justice league equivalent of the golden Age of comics.

Members of the original Justice society of America iterations of familiar faces like Superman, Batman, Flash, Atom and green Lantern, among others. However, with the Silver Age, the JSA was no more. The Justice league became the a lot more premiere superhero team during this era, featuring some repackaged versions of JSA characters.
But in the issue titled The Flash Of two Worlds, the JLA got to meet the JSA who were in a different universe. While Superman and Batman weren’t present, the other versions of Flash and green lantern were.
Another reset of the DC Comics universe, the infamous crisis on limitless Earths, again changed the Justice society of America as being the world war II version of the modern era superhero teams, in the same universe. lots of of the JSA members’ children also featured as superheroes of their own.

The JSA’s other Live-Action Adventures
While the DC Animated universe has featured various versions of the Justice society of America, live-action has been rarer.
Geoff Johns marked one of his first forays into television by writing a Justice society of America themed episode for Smallville. The massive television event marked a 2-hour premiere that saw the JSA as a retired group of superheroes called back into action. It was amazing to see characters from classic comics appear in live-action.

The JSA returned in The CW’s Legends Of Tomorrow, with Hawkman and Hawkgirl featuring prominently in season 1, while the JSA themselves appearing in later seasons. members of the JSA even become recurring characters in the show.
Black Adam will Be The Justice society Of America’s feature film Debut
If the JSA are to appear in the Black Adam movie, it would mark their first-ever live-action feature film debut. In the comics, Black Adam has been the rival of the Justice society Of America, while also being their ally.
We know wery little about the direction of the Black Adam motion picture at this point, beyond a teaser poster and release date. So it’s tough to ascertain if the JSA will be battling alongside the villain/anti-hero. He may just go up against them.
The origin of Black Adam does place him in a timeline much earlier than other heroes in the DC extended universe thus far. So his meeting up with the 1940’s version of the Justice society of America as the earliest character within the DCEU makes thematic sense. Although which members of the infamous superhero team will come face to face with Johnson’s Black Adam are also unknown.
Black Adam is set to release on December 22, 2021.
